Luxury resort in Cancun implements SCATI’s systems
The hotel, located between the Caribbean Sea and the lagoon of Bahia Petempich, is one of the best resorts in Cancun and has two buildings and sections in the shape of a horseshoe, each with its own personality and ambiance.
In order to offer its guests the best conditions, the hotel has invested in a complete video surveillance system that incorporates thermography and license plate recognition systems. This resort has nothing to envy to any critical infrastructure and more than 300 video surveillance cameras ensure the safety of its guests.
Solution
This is a newly built hotel complex that has quickly become one of the major references in the sector in Mexico.
To meet all the requirements of this ambitious project, SCATI has worked hand in hand with one of its trusted integrators.
Since the opening of this hotel took place during the pandemic, thermographic solutions have been incorporated into the project, specifically to protect the main entrances as well as the common areas of the complex.
Our thermography systems are able to measure body temperature with high accuracy and send an alarm when a subject exceeds the desirable temperature previously set. Along with this alarm, operators receive a thermal and optical image that is simultaneously provided by our cameras, the temperature data and the marking of who has triggered the alarm in order to be able to respond quickly to the incident.
In addition, this resort included a license plate recognition (LPR) system to better serve its guests and simplify their stay at the hotel. Our license plate recognition systems make it possible to automate and control the entry and exit of vehicles to and from the facilities. In this way, vehicles passing through the complex can be kept under control. This is very beneficial for the hotel complex, both in terms of security and business improvement.
With these analytics, our video systems detect the vehicle, send an alarm and compare the image with the database housed in the video recorder, activating the corresponding action protocol automatically. In this way, if a VIP client accesses the hotel facilities, he can be given personalized treatment from the very first moment, thus improving his stay and, therefore, his satisfaction.
The security installation of the complex is completed with the installation of more than 300 cameras. Among them, 234 outdoor Minidomo IP cameras predominate, which are perfect for both low-light scenarios or environments where there is a high contrast of lighting, as they always offer the best image quality thanks to their integrated infrared capable of covering a distance of 10 meters.
Our Minidome series cameras offer basic video analytics such as motion detection, face detection, scene change, line crossing or intrusion among others. In addition, their discreet size makes them ideal for protecting places where customer privacy and intimacy are paramount.
Beneficts
This project has not only secured the hotel facilities by protecting them from vandalism or dangerous situations. Our solutions go beyond security, and incorporate the latest technologies in artificial intelligence to offer tools that improve our clients’ business.
Thanks to our systems, the hotel can obtain information from its guests, know their needs and preferences and therefore, improve their satisfaction during their stay in the complex.
On the other hand, our systems make it possible to obtain relevant and necessary information in every situation. Thanks to our thermographic control systems, we can detect and monitor health risks for our customers, and even prevent people from entering the facilities if they exceed the appropriate temperature.
Together with thermographic control, license plate recognition allows the hotel to control its accesses, thus improving its security and giving them the possibility of giving a differential treatment to certain customers from the first moment of their stay in the complex.
Thanks to SCATI’s solution, one of the most innovative and exclusive hotels in Mexico now has a state-of-the-art CCTV system, with advanced analytics and functionalities, which allows it to guarantee the security and satisfaction of its customers during their stay.

Migration to an IP video surveillance solution
CHALLENGE
DSM Nutritional Products is a world leader in the manufacture and sale of vitamins, carotenoids, enzymes, and other products for the animal nutrition industry.
The Jaguáre plant in São Paulo was protected by a CCTV (closed-circuit television) system consisting of 15 analog cameras, which were managed, stored, and controlled locally.
In the event of any incident outside working hours, the manager had to go personally to the offices, access the system on site and execute the contingency protocol manually in each case.
The company, which has an extensive network of 39 factories in 30 countries around the world, was looking for a more technological and customized alternative for its headquarters.
SOLUTION
The implementation and installation of DSM Nutritional Products' video surveillance system is carried out by Grupo INOVA+.
Currently, the CCTV system has been migrated to IP technology and has been expanded to have more than 50 cameras that are managed through a server, recorder, and software from Scati, manufacturer of intelligent video solutions.
The comprehensive management of IP cameras is done through a recording platform of the PRO range of SCATI FENIX capable of managing up to 64 IP Megapixel cameras simultaneously.
The versatility and functional features of this recorder make them ideal for environments where a progressive migration to IP is desired without the need to purchase additional devices such as encoders and switches.
In addition, these platforms guarantee high availability of images and incorporate H.265/H.265+ compression formats, which makes it possible to take advantage of the storage without penalizing the available bandwidth of the installation.
The system is scalable, allowing DSM Nutritional Products to add equipment without the need to replace existing equipment, as well as to grant remote access to the recordings from any location.
With the latest in deeplearning technology, the system provides intelligence data, such as: analytical reports, access counts, facial recognition, blacklists, among others.
BENEFITS
The video surveillance system is working in perfect conditions in two of the client's buildings and, due to the success of the project and the client's satisfaction, it is planned to expand the system in the short term.
With SCATI's video surveillance system, the manager can automate trivial tasks and manage those that really deserve his interest remotely and at any time.
"We have an excellent partnership with INOVA+ on large-scale, technologically advanced projects. In addition to bringing several novelties from the innovative market" comments Rafael Araújo Viana (Project, Engineering and Maintenance Analyst – DSM Nutritional Products).
Grupo INOVA+, SCATI's partner in Brazil, is a leading company in offering technological solutions in security and multimedia that stands out for offering integrated and scalable solutions with the highest levels of quality and innovation.

The operator visualizes and records the loading and unloading of trailer trucks at the docks with high image resolution.
This logistics company has almost a dozen cross-docking distribution centers where it has implemented this system for monitoring the stowage process using 4K video surveillance cameras.
To improve the operation of its cross-docking platforms and, specifically, to improve the stowage process, the logistics company installed 4K video cameras that visualize and record, with high image resolution, the entire loading and unloading process of the trailer trucks on the docks.
Occasionally there were "incidents" (cargo was hit, dropped, packages lost, etc.) that could create a conflict of responsibilities between the parties involved.
To guarantee the quality of the processes and to have forensic evidence of the conditions in which the goods leave the facilities, the logistics company has opted to install a CCTV system based on 4K resolution cameras.
These 4K cameras offer great image quality thanks to their 8 MPX and allow to visualize and record the entire process with a high level of detail. The resolution of these cameras even allows you to see the labels of each product with great clarity.
SOLUTION
To supervise the stowage process, generally, one camera is installed for every two loading and unloading docks.
With bullet format, these cameras incorporate illuminating range and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) to offer great image quality under any lighting conditions.
Each logistics platform is equipped with a SCATI FENIX video recorder to record the images from the cameras that monitor the stowage.
These video recorders store images and videos for 30 days, the maximum time allowed by current Spanish law.
SCATI FENIX recording systems compress high-resolution images from 8K cameras using H.265 algorithms, resulting in significant savings in the storage of recorded video.
On the other hand, this video compression allows to reduce the bandwidth required for the transmission of the IP video stream to the remote locations from where the solution is managed.
The logistics company already had a centralized video management system. Therefore, in the event of any incident, it can locate the exact moment in the process of loading and unloading trucks, obtain high quality images and resolve any incident in a matter of seconds, regardless of the platform where the incident occurs.
BENEFITS
With the implementation of SCATI's CCTV system, the logistics operator can monitor and locate the images associated with any goods during the process in a fast and secure way.
The high image quality offered by these cameras makes it possible to clarify any incident through the detailed visualization of the images so that incidents are resolved in real time. And, in addition, they can download the video and share it with agencies that require forensic evidence of the facts.
SCATI's video management platform allows you to view and manage all devices and cameras, monitor the status of the entire system, and facilitate investigations from a single location at any time.
The high availability of SCATI's recording systems allows the customer to access images, data, and storage even in the most critical situations where servers may go offline.
SCATI offers an open and scalable solution that can be integrated with other systems so that the customer can incorporate new video systems at any time without making additional investments.
